LEG University — the academy

The method, taught.

LEG University is where the Lightwyn way of working with soil is passed on — the science of living ground, and the practice of bringing it back. Three tracks and eighteen courses, from the free Foundations open to anyone to the full operator certification. The curriculum is set out below. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you the day each program opens.

Three tracks

From the kitchen compost bin to a certified operator.

Foundations — free, open to all

The ground floor

Why soil is a biology problem before a chemistry one — the plant-and-microbe exchange, and the shift from bacterial to fungal life. The free door in, for anyone curious about the ground under them.

The Gardener Ladder

Hobbyist to semi-pro

A ladder for growers working by hand: feeding your soil's life, home vermicomposting, brewing living compost tea, seeing your soil under a microscope, and — at the top — running a market garden on biology. No system required.

Professional Certification

The Certified LEG Operator

The full science and technology, for those deploying the system at scale — the Living Chain, the formulation discipline, field monitoring and diagnostics, honest-claim compliance, and the restoration applications. Ends in the operator credential.

Curriculum below is fixed; content is being produced and programs open in stages. Foundations opens first and free; the Gardener Ladder and the professional track follow. Certification enrollment is opening — see the note under that track.

Track 1 — Foundations · free

Living soil, explained.

F1 — free

Living Soil, Explained

Why soil is a biology problem before it is a chemistry one — the exchange between a plant and the community of life at its roots.

F2 — free

The Bacterial-to-Fungal Shift

How the life in soil moves from bacterial toward fungal, and how soil biologists read that balance.

F3 — free

Meet the System

A plain-language overview of the Lightwyn approach — apparatus, formulation, and measurement — without the proprietary internals.

Track 2 — The Gardener Ladder

Hobbyist to semi-pro, one rung at a time.

A1

Home Gardener — Feed the Life

Working with the biology already in your ground, by hand, with nothing to buy and nothing to spray.

A2

Backyard Vermicomposting

Setting up and running a home worm bin — from kitchen scraps to finished castings.

A3

The Biological Gardener — Compost Tea

Brewing and applying living compost tea at garden scale, with an honest account of where the evidence is settled and where it is still contested.

A4

See Your Soil — Intro Microscopy

Putting a drop of your soil under a microscope and identifying what lives there, using the recognized Ingham method.

A5

Semi-Pro — The Market Garden

Running a market garden on living-soil principles: scaling up, selling honestly, and staying inside the rules.

Track 3 — Professional Certification

The full system, for the operator.

B1

The Science of PBSR

The deep science backbone of precision biological soil restoration — the mechanism, in full.

B4

Field Monitoring & Diagnostics

Reading soil biology in the field — sampling, monitoring stations, and diagnostics over time.

B5

Compliance & Honest Claims

What an operator can and cannot say — claim discipline and regulatory awareness, treated as a condition of the work.

B7

Restoration Applications

The method across restoration domains — brownfield, mine reclamation, roadside, and agricultural ground.

B2

The Living Chain

Keeping the biology alive from brew to ground. Includes proprietary operator material.

B3

Formulation & the IFP

From site to prescription — the formulation discipline. Includes proprietary operator material.

B6

The Certified LEG Operator

The operator credential — quality-control authority, field claim-discipline, and the access it grants to run the system.

The Certified LEG Operator credential gates access to buy and operate the Lightwyn system — it is a licensed program, not a paper certificate. Enrollment is opening; the program is not a live purchase yet. Join the waitlist to be told when it opens.

Across every track

The through-lines.

X1

Soil-Food-Web Microscopy (Deep)

Advanced microscopy for reading the soil food web in detail.

X2

The Business of Living Soil

Turning living-soil practice into work that pays and lasts.

X3

Honest Claims & the Ethos

The Lightwyn ethos — why the method measures rather than assumes, and never overclaims.

Where it comes from

The teaching carries knowledge held by Sandy and built out by Devison over fourteen years of practice — the same lineage behind the system itself. LEG University exists so the method outlives any one operator.
